Giving Tuesday
Your Giving Tuesday gift directly supports a survivor’s healing, stability, and future.
Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to generosity — a moment when people everywhere step up to support the causes and communities that matter most. At Mend on the Move, this day holds deep significance. It fuels the heart of our mission: empowering women survivors of abuse in Metro Detroit through meaningful work, healing support, and community connection.
What does Mend on the Move provide to a survivor of abuse?
Part-time employment in a supportive community of women with shared experiences.
On-the-job training to learn new work skills that provide a unique financial opportunity, mixed with skills that encourage pride and self-worth while in the healing process from abuse.
Financial assistance for therapy, medical bills, housing, and legal needs—up to $1,000 yearly.
Access to a human services professional for personal guidance, therapy referrals, budgeting, and résumé help.
Weekly support group sessions focusing on trauma support, coping strategies, and art activities.
Yearly healing retreat with all Mend on the Move members. Retreats typically include an out-of-studio art or therapeutic experience and a time for bonding, team building, and learning.
Your Giving Tuesday donation helps sustain every one of these life-changing services.
To make an even more direct impact, our Amazon Wishlist offers a simple way to help meet the day-to-day needs of our small but mighty team. Items range from office supplies that keep our operations running, to essential tools used in jewelry making.
Every item gifted helps keep our studio functioning, our survivors supported, and our mission thriving.
Thank you for standing with us this Giving Tuesday.
Together, we’re creating stability, dignity, and new beginnings for the women who need it most — one survivor, one story, one piece at a time.
